Almost every Chinese university asks international applicants for the same set of documents. Get them ready early and your application moves quickly. Leave them and you miss an intake.
The list
- 01Matric and FSc mark sheets and certificates — attested. These decide whether you meet the academic requirement.
- 02Passport, plus passport-size photographs — your passport must stay valid for the whole programme, so renew it first if it expires soon.
- 03Completed application form — the university's own form. We fill this in with you.
- 04Police clearance certificate — proof of a clean record.
- 05Physical examination form — a medical check on the standard form, done by an approved doctor.
- 06Financial form — a declaration of who is paying for your study.
- 07Self-introduction video — a short clip introducing yourself. Universities use it to check your English is real.
- 08Bank statement — a closing balance of USD 5,000 or above is the common requirement. It shows you can support yourself.
- 09English proficiency certificate — for English-medium programmes.
The two that hold applications up
The bank statement. The balance has to be there, in the account, on the date of the statement. Arranging this at the last minute is the single most common reason a file sits waiting.
Attestation. Mark sheets usually need attestation before a university will accept them. It takes time and it cannot be rushed at the end.
What we do with them
We check every document before anything is submitted. That matters more than it sounds — a file rejected for a missing attestation can cost you a whole intake, because the next one is six months away.
